Ecolab Senior Scientist and Urban Entomologist

In his role as senior scientist and urban entomologist for Ecolab, Dr. John Barcay leads pesticide evaluation and development projects for Pest Elimination, specializing in developing thorough and effective integrated pest management programs with minimal use of pesticides. Barcay has worked at Ecolab since 1990, holding positions as a scientist and leader of Ecolab’s Pesticide Program as well as a principal entomologist for the company.

Dr. Barcay is a member of the National Pest Management Association, Entomological Society of America, American Mosquito Control Association, Gamma Sigma Delta (the honor society of agriculture), Society for Vector Ecology and Pi Chi Omega, a professional fraternity for urban pest control, and Independent Organic Inspectors Association.

Dr. Barcay received his bachelor’s degree in entomology from Purdue University. He also received his master’s degree and doctorate in urban entomology from Purdue University.
