Wyndham partners with Ecolab to welcome returning customers
Putting hygiene and safety first to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable hotel stay
As activities restart and travelers rejoice at the idea of a holiday, improved health and cleaning practices are the key factors impacting decisions to stay at a hotel. A global McKinsey research found the second most important factor for consumers to return to pre-pandemic behaviors is when restaurants and hotels start taking safety measures.
To build confidence among its guests when welcoming travelers back, Ecolab is working with Wyndham Hotels and Resort, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with more than 9,000 hotels in 90 countries, to further enhance its hygiene and cleaning protocols, as part of the company’s ‘Count on Us’ hygiene initiative in Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa (EMEA).
Aimed at providing guests with comfort and peace of mind in the wake of COVID-19, Wyndham’s Count on Us initiative includes a number of long-term efforts to build confidence among guests with elevated health and safety protocols across Wyndham branded properties in the EMEA region, including robust new training and guidelines, ongoing access to critical health essentials through trusted suppliers and more support.
This renewed focus and commitment to safety and hygiene needs to be visible and communicated to guests to provide reassurance. Leveraging Ecolab’s ‘expertise, the two companies have joined forces to create educational resources including hygiene plans, wall charts and checklists. The materials are displayed and easily accessible to further ensure hygiene protocols at hotel-level.
New validated and efficacious solutions with efficacy against enveloped viruses like coronavirus have been introduced to hotels’ team members in the region, through remote or in-person trainings to educate the hotel employees on the importance of hygiene and cleanliness measures. The holistic hygiene approach is designed to include robust and consistent cleaning standards in all hotel areas, from reception, dining room, lobby to the rooms, kitchen, laundry, and pools.
“We have collaborated closely with hotels of the Wyndham group across the region to further enhance their hygiene protocols,” said Steve Bonwick, Global Account Manager, Institutional at Ecolab Europe. “We have provided training sessions to their staff and have developed protocols and resources to re-enforce the right hygiene behaviors to both employees and guests.”
Ecolab is happy to support customers such as Wyndham, who are showing commitment to health and safety in the hospitality industry – helping consumers plan their future travels with more confidence.
