Celebrating the Power of ERGs at Ecolab
For two decades, our Employee Resource Groups have shaped our company strategy and culture. 10,700 members strong, see how we’re continuing to prepare for the future.

Group of Ecolab associates, Employee Resource Group leaders and executive sponsors gather together at the 2025 Strategic ERG Leadership Summit in Eagan, Minnesota.
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are Ecolab’s associate-initiated and -led communities that bring people together with shared cultures, abilities, experiences and backgrounds. Open for all associates to join and participate, our ERGs provide a platform for connection and advocacy, supporting our commitment to our associate experience.
At Ecolab, our ERGs serve as strategic resource groups that help drive business growth, foster inclusion and shape our strategy and culture. Twenty years ago, a group of associates launched EcoEssence, our first ERG, with a vision to create space for change. That vision sparked a global movement that has transformed our workplace and propelled our business forward.
Today, Ecolab’s ERG programme is 10,700 members strong across more than 70 countries, representing 12 ERGs and 106 chapters, all aligned to deliver strategic impact. These groups assist in driving business growth, deepening customer relationships, giving back to our communities and supporting a workplace where every associate has the opportunity to thrive.
Passion Meets Progress
Over two decades, ERGs have become a cornerstone of Ecolab’s inclusive culture and a launchpad for leadership. Their influence has shaped our company in ways such as:
- Winning Business: Our ERGs help us win business and secure contracts by connecting with customers on what matters most: shared values, diverse perspectives and authentic collaboration.
- Promoting Psychological Safety: They’ve created spaces where associates feel seen, heard and empowered to lead authentically. When our associates experience a sense of belonging, they’re more likely to speak up, collaborate and help drive our company’s success.
- Fostering Engagement and Belonging: ERG members consistently report higher engagement and inclusion scores.
- Igniting Talent Development: ERGs help attract, retain and grow a diverse range of leaders across the organisation.
- Impacting our Communities: Thousands of volunteer hours and outreach initiatives across the globe have made a lasting difference.
- Recognizing Global Excellence: Ecolab’s ERG programme has earned top recognition and honours, including being named a Top 10 ERG Programme by the Global ERG Network for the third time. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to cultivating inclusive systems, leadership and community engagement through high-impact ERG programming.
