Ecolab and Yara
A strategic partnership in Le Havre for optimal water managment
After a 15-year collaboration, resulting in a 19% reduction in water consumption at the growing Le Havre site, Ecolab and Yara renewed their partnership this year for 10 years. Together, Yara International ASA, the world leader in fertilizers, and Ecolab, will be able to continue to increase the site's operational efficiency, while reducing its environmental impact.
Exemplary safety
Thanks to the presence of a dedicated team and a continuous focus on the safety of operations, (automation of injection systems, contactless unloading), the "ultrapure water" workshop has been operating for 15 years without accidents and promotes its expertise in safety on the rest of the production site.
« At Yara France, Our ambition is to remain a benchmark in terms of security, said Loic Mallard, production manager at Yara. For 15 years, Ecolab has been supporting us with expertise and impeccable service, helping to make our Le Havre site an example where performance and safety go hand in hand. »
An innovative industrial site
The Le Havre site mainly produces industrial solutions, such as gas cleaning systems, fuel additives and animal feed products. – an industry on the rise. Thanks to the continuous service of Ecolab experts, advanced 3D TRASAR technology, full automation and the use of specialized products, Yara has been able to guarantee the quality and quantity of the ultrapure water produced, continuity of production and a high recycling rate.
Optimized water management
Since 2010, Ecolab (Nalco Water) has been supporting Yara in the ramp-up of the Le Havre site. In 15 years, Ecolab's integrated solutions have increased the production capacity of ultrapure water, essential for ammonia and fertilizer production, by 19%, while reducing water consumption by 14% (equivalent to the consumption of a city of 5,000 people) and electricity consumption by 21% in the workshop.
"Smart water management not only reduces withdrawals and discharges but also generates substantial energy savings, said Cristophe Crevet. The results are tangible: lower water consumption, reduced CO₂ emissions and major energy savings, illustrating that water sobriety and energy efficiency go hand in hand. »
With our collaboration renewed for the next decade, we’ll keep turning water performance into measurable value that drives sustainable growth.
