Removing Heavy Carbon Buildup in Oven Interior

Challenge

A customer was struggling with heavy carbon buildup on their oven’s internal surface. Their current process, which included a foam cleaning followed by a CIP wash programme, was not successfully removing the buildup without the intervention of their hygiene team.

The customer needed:

Innovation Trial Findings

• Tufsoil visually dissolved carbon deposits on the oven’s surface. The breakdown of carbon was evident immediately after application of the product to the surface.
• Customer found the application was easy even in difficult areas due to the Moby gel applicator. No manual intervention was required, and there were no concentration safety concerns. 
• No cooling time or manual cleaning time was required, which allowed for a faster turnaround to get the oven back into production. 
• Overall, Tufsoil showed significant improvements compared to a traditional alkaline foam application. 
  
   

Reducing Heavy Soiling in Free Fryer, Improving Efficiency and Quality

Challenge

A customer was struggling with heavy soiling in their free fryers. Lacklustre results were causing efficiency concerns and potential quality control issues. The customer had been struggling with this problem for a long time, and the hygiene team was discouraged.

The customer needed a better solution to:

• Remove heavy carbon buildup on heaters
• Remove heavy buildup on hoods, filters, undersides and belts
• Produce results without the use of spray balls

Ecolab Innovation

The customer selected Ecolab’s full Exelerate Fryer programme:

• Included the new Exelerate Tufsoil gel applied safely and easy with new Moby gel applicator 
• Used Exelerate HSI just before the boil out
• During boil out, customer kept Mip SCA as their chosen chemical but increased concentration for the deep cleaning and added either Topaz HD3 or Topaz HD2 to create a foaming environment
